week 14 story "the twins"

Jewels Once there was a lady that was very ugly, in spirit and appearance, that gave birth to a pair of twins both girls. Their father had passed away during the girl's second year of life and the mother had to raise both by herself. As they grew older, one of the girls, Evelyn, became the spitting image of her mom, and the other, Flor, became the spitting image of her father. Unfortunately for Evelyn, this meant that she developed the same ugly character that her mother possessed. Flor grew to be a very beautiful and charming child just like her father. Because of this both her mother and Evelyn grew to be very envious of Flor and treated her poorly. Her mother instructed her to do all the household chores while Evelyn got to go hang out with her friends. One day while Flor was mowing the lawn her mother told her to take out the trash immediately. Soccer ball There once was a man by the nickname of "Z" from the country of Jordan. As a child, his life revolved around the game of soccer. Every day after school he would go to the park with his friends where they would practice for hours on end. He joined a club and excelled at the game. As he got older his games got more and more serious and he believed he could make a career out of his passion playing soccer professionally. His dreams were coming to reality when he was offered a scholarship to play for a small university in the small state of Oklahoma. This was exactly what he had been waiting for. An opportunity to get out and prove to the world that he had what it takes to be one of the greats. Unfortunately, one day during a tense game, Z suffered a grave injury. Two rats. Image Link One early morning, during a time of great scarcity, a greedy rat came across an enormous and ripe peach that had fallen from the tallest branch of a nearby peach tree. Overjoyed, the hungry rat quickly dragged the delicious fruit back to its nearby hole. Once the rat had arrived home, his equally greedy brother asked where he had found such a good looking piece of fruit. “It was under the large peach tree down by river bend,” explained the rat, “and it’s all mine!” The brother, too lazy to go find his own fruit, immediately began plotting an evil scheme to steal the rat’s peach. Later that evening, while the rat was enjoying his delicious peach, the brother appeared with a few measly pecans he had found while scavenging. He showed them off the rat in an attempt to bait him. “Since you live under my roof, you must give me half of your nuts!” Said the rat, unknowing falling victim to the brother’s scheme. “No, they’re all mine! He wore a long grey coat over his wrangler jeans and button-up shirt. The waitress could tell he was troubled. Man: "I'll take a coffee, please." His voice was so deep and robust it imitated the thunder from the storm outside. Waitress: "Sure thing, hun, any dinner or  slice of pie for you tonight?" Man: "No thank you." The waitress quickly brewed up a fresh batch of steaming hot coffee. The earthy aroma filled the diner. Waitress: "Here you go hun. Sugar or creamer?" Man: "Please." The waitress grabbed a couple packets of each and placed them by the man's cup. He slowly added them to his drink while he waited for the coffee to cool. Waitress: "So what ...

Rodolfo y el Coyote. Week 2 Story

It was a chilly, yet refreshing, Thursday morning. Rodolfo rubbed his eyes, yawned, and got out of bed. Empezó el dia con his daily chores by milking and feeding his vacas. While he was milking the fifth vaca, noto el cadáver de una cabra al otro lado de su cerca de alambre. He went to investigate. It looked like the work of coyote, but something didn’t look right. Rodolfo had never seen this goat before, and he didn’t know anyone else that raised goats besides himself within a 5 kilometer radius.
